STREET STYLE MASHUP | Well Dressed Well Groomed

Oh men. The menswear fashion week hit London just a couple days ago and I am still in doubt to go to that territory, i.e. grasping the menswear collection. So in the mean time let me feast your eyes with some fine looking men, unexpected details and good grooming. So to speak, the object that is aesthetically pleasing.

STREET STYLE MASHUP | Spice it Up

Though catwalk still holds dominant in setting trend and mood direction for the next season, street style has undoubtedly become the one to watch. I could care less be it is the "real" girl who is shot or the industry insider such as editors and models, as long as their look is applicable and relate-able, it is definitely still on.

Simplicity with a tweak and little details always wins me. And nothing serves better than a handful of street style shots to inspire me spicing my boring daily wear up. Have a nice weekend!

THOUGHTS | Don't Tell me I'm Lazy

For most girls/women, it is no easy job to get dressed in the morning: they open their wardrobe with piles of clothes but they are still clueless about which one to put on. The brilliant ones have planned the outfit the night before, but sometimes last minute changes take place. I fall somewhere between the brilliant ones and the clueless ones--at times I plan what I want to wear properly, but not seldom I rush to decide which outfit works.

But this one is another story, actually. Seeing the emerging numbers of women who dress so easily while still maintain the "killer" look makes me really envy. In fashion, it is called minimalism, where the outfit worn is actually plain simple--not much of layers and patterns, with emphasis on structure, wearability, and fluidity of the pairings. There is sense of relax and no fuss attitude in which the ladies still manage to present themselves elegantly or edgy. I definitely want both!

Black and white. Perfect stilletos. A touch of leather. The formula of dressing minimal are those three, I think, but I am personally not quite ready for wearing stilleto(s) around--or perhaps it is because I haven't found the perfect pair yet. I still have to admit though, I am that one person who loves wearing tons of different stuffs, especially if it works--so the option of being "minimal" will arise when I feel like I have nothing to wear. I would probably pull my white t-shirt with some skirts or pants. Which makes me question, is minimalism some kind of style or options for those who are clueless-slash-lazy to pick clothes? I say, it can be both.

The best I want to achieve is something near the gorgeous look of Liu Wen: comfortable (no stilleto but instead a pair of manly loafers) but still edgy (the Alexander Wang bag and that asymmetrical skirt). Are you with me?

STREET STYLE MASHUP: Collar Story

Seen on the street: all pretty ladies dressed up (and down) in collars. Perusing tons of street style photography has been my guilty pleasure--where I find myself continuing clicking older post or next page despite the fact that I should probably working on something else my project. The story this time is divided into two parts: the peeked collar and the jewel around the collar.

It is a classic approach for plenty preppy girls (or ladies) out there, to grab their most basic shirt and throw a sweater over it, especially during warm weather. Lesson of sweater over shirt I learn here is, the combination can go from boring to effortlessly chic to exciting. With a pair of shorts, an oversized shirt, a pair of oversized glasses, a denim collar peeked out, and jewelry around the collar, it is actually not that hard to still look cool in sweats.

I never really button my shirt up all the way, but the idea of wearing stand-out necklace (or even the chunky ones) around the collar is pretty intriguing. The length of the necklace is one factor I am considering, since it has to fall not too far from my upper button. Besides, I also don't want to look too formal with my buttoned shirt, but how these two ladies wear theirs, just in the proper balance of chic which makes this second part of the story worth to try (means I am picturing which outfit pairing I would probably wear next, right now :p).

Street Style Mashup: Good Style isn't Hard to Find

Finding a great website where I can spend hours digging the past archives can always make my day. The essence of simplicity in it that draws me back from all the highly digital evolving Net is what caught me lately, inspires me to think simple yet revolutionary. I feel rather uneasy these days seeing the whole bunch of online magazines and blogs, deliver updates beyond my speed of reading. There is an emerging need to constantly monitor the news and write on this blog, obviously.

But then, when I found The Lisbon Tailor, a street style website whose photographers are from Portugal, I immediately fall for it. The photographs are somehow humble, capture the right moment of individual style, and still manage to portray story behind them instead of mere nice outfits. I wish there are more stories about the photographers because their work is sublime yet minimal.

Street Style Mashup: Sartorially Oversized

Within the era of street style photography that has boomed as a phenomenon, I find myself to be a loyal reader of Scott Schuman since years ago, admiring how effortless the pictures are taken. Between the glamorous editorials and bloggers' outfit pictures, The Sartorialist just fits the right place where it is all about easy elegant style and unexpected details. I do not really give a thought about his comment of how successful he is--where people accuse him of being cocky and stuffs. In reality his picture speaks, bringing some "real" personalities instead of editors, models, and "high-class" profilers (not that their pictures are bad, but a nice break from the branded outfits is definitely needed).

So I spot some oversized/ no pants snaps Mr.Schuman took, and my immediate thought was, chic chic chic :p (Don't get me wrong, they perhaps put on some bicycle pants or so beneath..). I have actually listed so many wardrobe "essentials" as a guidance to shop, yet I would definitely add oversized shirt slash dress slash anything that makes me look like these ladies. (I'm just inspired, okay?)
