LOVE-WORTHY | Miyake's Prism Illusion

Bag that serves not only as a fashion statement, but also rich in aesthetic design--if I may say, is the nonchalant charm that Issey Miyake's Bao Bao line carries within its personality. I stumbled upon these distinguished arm candies after their many appearances in street style photographs, hanging effortlessly cool yet intriguing. The Japanese designer, Issey Miyake, with his brilliance in combining fashion with design technology has successfully translated what 21st century coolest kids need in these babies, I have to admit.

Though the construction of the bag is fairly simple, the concept is actually to provide busy modern lifestyle with new dramatic shapes. It is fold-able and to my observation, it looks like a beautiful giant prism. I am guessing it is also waterproof due to the shiny exterior. Furthermore, these prismatic bags come in various colours and shapes--even they have a rucksack version! So I need to add this in my future purchase list while crossing my fingers they are still in the market by the time my finance status is superior.

FAVOURITES: Shade of Red

Looking back at past shopping habits of mine, I used to set time for me to shop (regularly), like at least I have several new stuffs every month, until they flood my closet. Sorting through all of the items now, some are ill-fitted, plain awful, and of course, if I look closely, some aren't THAT bad. As I more and more concern about how poor the basic and versatile pieces I have, I start to raise the bar when I go shopping, searching for items that can be mixed with tons of other stuffs in my closet (okay, there aren't really tons of them :p). The same thing applied when I purchase things other than clothes, bags, shoes, and the likes, I try to opt for something reliable, the one I can use for a long period of time.

However, the temptation of cheap prices is absolutely hard to resist. Especially when the products look cute and really describe my style, so I sometimes rush to walk away from them. Not this time, though, when my sister (I have two younger sisters) came back from China, she brought me some lovely stuffs (okay, I did ask her for bringing me some :p), all of these are each priced under Rp 100,000 (equivalent to around $11).

So my editing skills still need a lot of practice, since the red shade is supposed to be lighter. I particularly love that red doctor-bag with just the right compartment for me to stuff everything in and both handle and strap that come in handy. 

This toy cam has been everywhere but I suddenly got the urge to try one. Beside the fact that it is so cheap in China (around 1/5 the price of it everywhere else), I like the simplicity and cute size of this. I haven't tried it yet but I will later post the pictures I take with this little red :p

This particular notebook isn't purchased in China, I bought myself in the local book store. I have to admit, I am such an impulsive notebook shopper, since now I have various size and colour with argument "to write 2012 plans" everytime I purchase one. I realized that I also have one red notebook, which excites me somehow, now that in the beginning of the year of Dragon, I have many red stuffs (hope it's a good sign :p).

Favourites: Clutching Essential

Despite of its impracticality, clutch is my latest favourite type of bag--I've been carrying them day and night, and to be honest, I am tempted to purchase some more to add to the three current envelope-like-bags I already have. On a positive clutch-note, I can basically throw everything in and due to its practical size, I unconsciously reduce the number of things I bring, genius aren't they? Clutch then has made its way to my must-have item list for every woman's closet ;) So I guess you have seen all of them in the previous posts, but here they are...

Pardon for the rather absurd edit, nevertheless, I have been wanting a leopard clutch to add some rawr-ness to my small clutch groupies :p Spotting two nice prototypes from Style Crusader and Jeana Sohn. The texture, the size, the prints are equally covet-able--I can vividly imagine grabbing it in my arms with every various outfit pairing from my closet...

Beauty: what's inside my makeup bag

Remember I did a “what’s inside your bag” post long time ago? Now, although you may not see my makeup bag with whole other junks in there, I show you just a peek to my regularly-used makeup. I am not a self-proclaimed makeup guru or makeup junkie, but as a “normal” girl, I do love makeup, with just the right amount. However, being a former student, I do not have any budget for purchasing makeup thus I would normally go with the drugstore products. So far, I find myself comfortable using them, although once I am able to spend more, YSL or Urban Decay sounds like a goal.

Face: Maybelline clear smooth BB Cream, Sephora base lisante smoothing primer, Bare Minerals matte SPF 15 powder foundation.

Eyes: Maybelline Magnum Volum Express mascara, Maybelline Volum Express waterproof mascara, Revlon ColorStay liquid eyeliner, Viva eyebrow pencil, Oriflame Visions mascara, Maybelline black eyeliner matic, La Tulipe eyeshadow.

Lips: Revlon SuperLustrous lipstick, Avon Living lipstick, Nivea Med Protection lipbalm, 2 Maybelline lipgloss (too lazy to check the type :-x), Oriflame Ultimate gloss.

You see tons of Maybelline products, which are good esp the BB cream and Volum Express mascara (the black one) yet I have just recently purchased the Magnum mascara and it turns out SUCKS. I guess it’s because of the gels instead of liquid inside the tube which cause the applicator way too sticky (ew). Other winner is Bare Minerals matte which covers my complexion really well (I like combining BB cream and this powder foundation since it gives nice dewy finish) and the Nivea Med Protection lipbalm since my lips are easily dry whenever I apply lipstick or lipgloss. 

I personally have passed the stage of wearing colourful eyeshadow and prefer to stick with neutral colours like brown, pink, white, and dark blue for smokey eyes (not pictured, too messy :p). I am currently looking for a nice eyeshadow palette to create smokey eyes, thinking of getting myself the NYX one.
